September’s here and Summer’s a fond memory so many of us are gearing up for a new schedule for the months ahead. Inevitably gyms, of which Wexford has many, get busy again. If you’re among those thinking if reacquainting yourself with treadmill and weights you might like to know about a gymnasium where the offering is subtly different, if you want it to be.

When Damien Wade opened Health 3.0 in Westpoint in Clonard, Wexford he was driven by a vision much broader than simply to offer a location for training in physical fitness. Following his mother’s diagnosis with cancer Damien’s own journey to understand the nature of ‘dis-ease’ was started and has led him to a far broader concept of what health means than physical fitness alone.

The goal was clearly simple to Damien; provide a complete solution to those wishing to advance their health and fitness to a level not commonly realised in standard gymnasium setups or personal training studios. To achieve this Damien set about a structured and all encompassing approach, with complete end to end physical assessment,  including various forms of thorough diagnostics, analysis of lifestyles and completed by a fully tailor-made personal health and fitness regime”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12320″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_outline” border_color=”green”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

To be able to offer such a comprehensive health solution Damien’s studies have taken him down the road of holistic massage and manipulation and on to a Diploma in Holistic Nutrition which allows him to offer clients a whole gamut of diagnostic tests (check out ‘Geneva diagnostics’ for an idea of the full range) to help them overcome a huge number of nutrition related health issues. Furthermore, and most importantly, a spiritual practice is central to Damien’s own life and, for those who want it, to the lifestyle package he can offer his clients.
Damien is currently working toward the completion of a book on ‘The 5 keys to unlock true health’ which will be an encapsulation of the approach to well being which he himself has developed. The five keys in question are Nutrition, Exercise and fitness, The Mind, Energy (i.e. the subtle ‘pranic’ energy of Yoga) and lastly how to combine all of these to achieve true health. Education is also a passion for Damien and central to his own path is the need to teach this approach to the young, which he has already done in several schools around Wexford. He offers meditation classes to anyone interested on Tuesday nights from 8 to 9 in Clonard and attendance is by donation for charity.

So if you’re feeling the urge to deal with a particular health issue, to get fitter, to loose some weight, to deal with stress better, to enjoy some holistic massage or to take your diet in a better direction these are all things that Damien can help you with and if that’s where it ends for you he’s more than happy to help. But if you want to take the journey to a truly holistic, multi level approach to health either now or after two months or two years of working with him, then Damien is the gym instructor for you.
