Tahini and Hazelnut Chocolate Balls

We’ve already given you some info on Only Natural’s newest recruit ChloĆ© who impressed me mightily with some deliciously decadent yet healthy treats that she made up and brought in for us to sample. They are the perfect example of when a little indulgence doesn’t have to be at the cost of health and, with Christmas just round the corner, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share the recipes with you all to impress your friends and family. I really urge you to try them as they are so easy to make and delicious

Tahini Balls

1 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
4 tbsp tahini
1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla powder
1 small handful dried cranberries
1 tsp orange zest
Sesame seeds ( for rolling )

Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another. Add dry to wet ingredients and mix well. Roll into small balls and roll them in sesame seeds.
Store in the fridge.

Hazelnut Chocolate Balls

A little more effort is required here but imagine a healthy Ferrero Rocher!

-Balls
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 heaped tbsp hazelnut butter
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 cup ground almonds
1 1/2 tbsp raw cocoa powder
1/2 tbsp carob powder
1 heaped tbsp desiccated coconut
1/2 tsp vanilla powder
A pinch of fine sea salt

-Coating

75g dark chocolate
1 tsp coconut oil
2 tbsp chopped hazelnuts

Mix coconut oil, hazelnut butter and maple syrup in one bowl.
Mix all the dry ingredients in another bowl, then slowly add to the wet mix, stirring thoroughly until well combined.
Roll into small balls ( it should make about 18 )
Put aside in the fridge to set.
Now make the chocolate coating by melting dark chocolate and coconut oil in a bowl over a saucepan of gently boiling water ( but not touching the water ! ). Add the hazelnuts to this.
Roll each ball in the melted chocolate one by one to coat them evenly.
Put them back in the fridge to let them set.
Enjoy !
