Spiritually, this marks the part of the journey when we suddenly realise that we have already passed beyond known civilisation. We find ourselves travelling alone through the wilderness. We didn’t notice the transition as we journeyed from a countryside of lush greenery to a dry desert of heat and extremes. Our awareness just suddenly returned to show us where we are now. We know we have been prepared for the journey, we have everything we need to survive. Once again we assume the role of child who reaches adulthood. No longer can we rely on parental supports, we need to stand on our own two feet. The teaching we have received since early childhood will stand to us now. Our Individual must step up and be counted. This is Spiritual elevation. We have the ability to move nearer to the Divine.
Our physical senses are not required here, our prayers, meditations and contemplations are enough to guide us. True inner Faith, the knowing of our Spirit and it’s origins in Light are all that is required. And yet, the temptation to turn back toward the comfort and support of our teachers will appear. We face a choice, the easy route well travelled and comfortable versus the difficult road, the one which relies upon Faith alone. Which will you choose?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Temperance is the card of Sagittarius “The Archer” represented as the centaur Chiron, the half human and half horse of Greek mythology, the healer whose higher intelligence forms a bridge between Earth and Heaven. Aim your arrow straight and true along this path of aspirations. This is the path where our true desires and dreams may unite, tempered and strengthened through repeated immersion in the fire and water of the blacksmith’s forge. Tempered through the gentle and gradual inter-mixing in the baker’s bowl.
The angel in the card is Archangel Michael, chief among angels, victorious and triumphant. He is demonstrating the process of mixing Higher Spirit into lower matter, he is balanced perfectly on both land and water, no easy task to achieve, but one which we are encouraged to attempt. Follow the example he sets, and remember, Michael is the blazing, direct, focused radiance of The Light, he represents the highest possible aspirations of human spiritual enlightenment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]So you may ask, where does this leave me as I travel through the wilderness? Well, Temperance is another of the four great Virtues, it represents the strengthening of Will through the challenges we face in our lives. We come through these tasks with a new ability to unify our Spirit and Mind using this new strength, and become capable of refining ourselves into a higher spiritual form on earth.
