Featured Therapist – Ann Moran (revisted!)

Some people are just born therapists and I think Ann Moran is one of those people. Her intuitive nature and natural compassion make her an ideal fit for the career. Ann is already a very competent therapist who has mastered the skills of reflexology, Indian head massage, aromatherapy and natural beauty therapies among others. Her passion is for unraveling the connections between body, mind and emotions and facilitating healing by bringing balance to all three.

So I was very happy to hear that she’s just completed some new studies which allow her to bring her very special talents to the area of support for those with fertility issues as well as during pregnancy. These are sensitive and painful issues for many where Ann’s intuition and compassion can and will be put to very good use. This is Ann’s own take on her new skills:

I am very pleased and excited to let you all know I am now specialising in Fertility and Maternity Reflexology, and am now offering this service as part of my Holistic Practice. I have developed a very keen interest in this subject over the past few months and have also attended some very informative seminars at the Sims IVF clinics to discover that an increasing number of couples are now finding it difficult to conceive, with the number now being as many as 1 in 5 in Ireland.

Reflexology can work in a number of ways to enhance fertility and while it does not claim to cure causes of infertility or guarantee a pregnancy, it does focus mainly on two very important areas – Stress Management and Hormone Balancing to prepare the body and give it the best possible chance for conception to take place.

Those receiving Reflexology during pregnancy tend to deliver closer to term, have shorter labours and are less likely to require medical intervention. I tailor a bespoke 12 week programme for individual needs and this will include diet/nutrition, lifestyle changes, stress management, mindset and lots of support for those struggling emotionally with their fertility journey.
