What is Histamine?
Histamine is a compound produced in the body as part of an allergic reaction, and it is what causes swelling, rashes, itching, sneezing and mucous production when the immune system reacts to a trigger. Symptoms can occur in the nose, lungs, throat, sinuses, ears, lining of the stomach or on the skin. This unique formula helps keep the nasal and respiratory airways functioning normally.
What is Contained in the Proprietary Blend?
Aller-C® contains a proprietary blend of 3 ingredients, namely citrus bioflavonoids, quercetin and bromelain.
Bioflavonoids are antioxidant compounds synthesized by plants, which may help support a healthy inflammatory response, cellular health, and cellular signalling/communication. Aller-C® features a high-strength bioflavonoid complex from the peels of oranges and other citrus fruits, and is standardised to 92%.
Quercetin is another bioflavonoid found commonly in berries, onions and apples, and is thought to play an important role in modulating the body’s histamine response. It is provided in the form EMIQ (enzymatically modified isoquercitrin), which is a more bioavailable form of quercetin.
Bromelain is a protein digesting enzyme found only in the stems of fresh pineapple, traditionally used as a digestive aid. Research continues to highlight its potential benefits in reducing inflammation, and supporting healthy nasal and respiratory airways.
Recommended Use:
2-3 capsules two to four times daily between meals, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.
