Tina’s Spiritual Tidbits!

Spiritual Healing Only Natural

Holistic and Spiritual healer and guide Tina Wilkins founder of Spirit Essence offers many different readings and practices here in Only Natural. Tina is instore on Saturday afternoons 3pm til 6pm apart from the last weekend of the month when she will be in on the Sunday 2pm til 5pm. For a personalised session or to book an appointment contact Tina on 089 702 0235 and she will be able to advise what treatment is right for you.

Tina Wilkins wants to share with us some simple things that anyone can do to introduce some positive energy and healing into our daily lives. In today’s society I think we could all do with a bit of extra positivity and these tips added to over time won’t take much time out of your day but may make you feel that little bit more positive about life!

As the nights draw in and it gets colder, natures answer is to withdraw, to pull back from life and slumber until the spring dawns. This made me think about how unnatural our rhythm has become, how apart from nature. For whilst the natural state is to rest, majority of ‘us’ will be caught up in the Christmas rush or trying to cram as much into the daylight hours as we can.

Wexford Yoga Centre Open Day Not To Be Missed

Sadhana Open Day Only Natural
Sadhana Yoga Centre in the Faythe in Wexford town is in the process of reinventing itself largely following events in the life of its founder Linda O’Grady. I had a chat with Linda to find out just what had brought her to this, what her background and modus operandi as a yoga teacher is and just what plans she has for Sadhana.
Linda has been working in the bodywork area for the last twenty years and what struck me was how rightly proud she is of her illustrious yoga lineage. She teaches Vinyasa Krama Yoga and was taught by Srivatsa Ramasami. Srivatsa Ramaswari in turn received the teachings from Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya (November 18, 1888 – February 28, 1989), an Indian yoga teacher, ayurvedic healer and scholar. Often referred to as “the father of modern yoga,”  Krishnamacharya is widely regarded as one of the most influential yoga teachers of the 20th century. If close to source is good then Linda has it!

Diann’s Herbal Tales

Dianna Herbal Tales Only Natural

Diann Fletcher Jones amongst many things is a recently qualified medicinal herbalist, as you can imagine Diann herself is very passionate about the health benefits that herbs can bring and so has decided to share some of this information on a monthly basis! And hopefully before too long we will have a catalogue of different herbs for various ailements and conditions that you can refer to anytime you wish.

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Suddenly we are cocooned in blankets of summer green, the gentle vibration of the earth is pulsing with life force and if we stop to listen a sense of well-being cascades over us.
This is the healing for this month, just stop, slow down, bend to the open flower and partake of its healing fragrance, touch the terrain of  a tree trunk and senses it’s heart beat, listen to the wind through the leaves. Be aware of the humdrum of busy insects and the magic of the sun as it dapples drops of light on the earth. That is where you will find peace and health this month .
With love and blessings
Diann x

Ayurvedic Information Coffee Morning

Coffee Morning Only Natural

Ayurvedic medicine (“Ayurveda” for short) is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. It was developed more than 3,000 years ago in India. It’s based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. And that everyone’s physical, emotional and spiritual makeup is determined by the balance within them of the five elements earth, water, air, fire and spirit.

If you feel you want learn more about this ancient tradition make sure to come along to our Ayurvedic Coffee Morning on Friday 13th April from 10.30am when Rachel Collins from Elysium Sanctuary will be in with us chatting about how Ayurveda, Yoga or any of the therapies Elysium offers.  And of course there will be plenty of tea, coffee and goodies to eat!!

Healing Properties of Amber

Amber Beads SOS Only Natural
In Only Natural we work closely with a company called Amber SOS and are looking forward to having Ben from the company in the shop on Saturday 14th October to share his experience of working with Amber and how it can benefit the wearer. Here are the basics to whet your appetite.
Amber, though very beautiful, isn’t a gemstone like the others, it’s fossilized tree resin. Extruded by trees approximately forty billion years ago it has turned into the beautiful ‘gem’ we prize so highly and wear today. The best Amber for therapeutic use comes from the area around the Baltic Sea as it contains a higher percentage (8%) of succinite.
Succinite is the component responsible for the healing properties, mainly pain relief and relaxation, that Amber is known for. To benefit from this it is worn next to the skin for as much of the time as possible. It’s pain killing properties have made it popular for babies going through the pain of teething but it is equally beneficial for adults and is reported to have helped in cases of many chronic ongoing daily conditions.  Bones and joint are top of the list but not exclusive.  Wearing amber has been very successful in dealing with Repetitive Strain Injuries as well as ongoing pains and strains caused by repetitive posture or movements. Many report better sleep patterns as a result of Amber’s relaxing properties and others have reported improvement in migraine, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, chest, ear, nose and throat problems (including hay fever and sinus problems), eczema and psoriasis.  Amber is well known in it’s native area, the Baltic countries, as a remedy for thyroid problems.

Holistic Wexford’s Website is Now Live!

New website for Wexford natural health fans !!!!!

holistic wexford logo

We’re lucky in Wexford to have such numbers of dedicated and knowledgable natural health practitioners, from yoga teachers to aromatherapists, from homeopaths to nutritional therapists. There’s no shortage of choice for anyone who wants to go down the natural healing route under the guidance of a qualified therapist. It was a natural progression when a number of these therapists banded together a short while ago to work together to promote themselves and Wexford as a ‘healing destination’.
We’re really thrilled to announce the next step on Holistic Wexford’s journey – holisticwexford.ie the group’s website has just been launched! To quote from the homepage “Holistic Wexford is a group of over 50 Complementary Therapists, Fitness Providers, Health Food shops and people working in the Healing Industry. We set up our group in September 2014 with a goal to building a directory of Holistic Professionals, also to connect with like-minded people to create a support network for each other.”

Natural-Healing image

At last a central information source on everything in the natural healing world that’s taking place in and around the County. Classes and courses, workshops, a ‘who’s who’ of natural healing in Wexford with an exhaustive list of practitioners’ biographies, healing methods and contact details, it’s all here! Not everyone’s on there yet but a resource like this can only grow stronger and more representative of the natural health community over time.
How we look after ourselves is a matter of choice but if you want to keep abreast of what’s happening locally in the natural health and healing field you’ll certainly want to check holisticwexford.ie out and make the most of this amazing new resource of local knowledge.
